How to use

Shampoo first, then wring the water out
Properly out, not towel-blotted. A soaking strand is already full — there is nowhere for a mask to go, and most of it leaves with the water.

Mid-lengths to ends
Skip the roots. This is a strand product, not a scalp one, and the newest six weeks of hair at the root is the part that needs it least.

Ten minutes
Longer does not do more. The cortex takes what it can hold in about ten minutes and then it is finished, whatever the jar is sitting in your hair doing.

Rinse cool
Cool water is what closes the cuticle you just spent ten minutes laying flat. It is the least pleasant step and the one that shows.
Twice a week, on the days you were washing anyway. The effect builds over several washes — protein goes back into the strand a little at a time, so wash four looks better than wash one.
